Receptionist/file clerk: (sample of duties) Schedule in office appointments. Register patients obtaining accurate demographic and insurance information. Verify and update information at the time of each interaction. Answer incoming phone calls, handle or direct calls as appropriate. Collect outstanding balances and co-payments. File incoming medical records into the electronic medical record system. Verification of insurance prior to appointments. Process patient correspondence. Post incoming payments onto patient accounts. Responsible for daily cash out and bank deposit reconciliation. Interacts with patients', physicians and other staff both within the Practice and at outside facilities providing accurate, timely and responsive information. Coordinates processes and routes all paperwork as required to meet physician and facility requirements. Ensure efficient, professional telephone communication. Requirements: Previous experience in a medical office setting desired but not required. College level education preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills High level of accuracy in performing responsibilities Basic computer knowledge, Data Entry Keyboard skills: 35-40 wpm Demonstrate courtesy and helpfulness towards patients and their families The ideal candidate would have experience working in a medical setting, be able to multitask, and have strong customer service skills.
