This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. General Summary of Duties: Under general supervision, the Patient Services Specialist is responsible for handling a variety of administrative duties to facilitate the efficient flow of patients at a clinical office while ensuring a positive patient experience by demonstrating quality customer service skills. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greets parents/patients arriving for appointments.
  • Assists parents with the completion of paperwork for new patients and newborns.
  • Verifies insurance for patient appointments.
  • Checks the Kiosk daily to ensure proper functioning.
  • Assists parents/patients with check in via the Kiosk and monitoring time usage to ensure timely patient flow.
  • Monitors incoming faxes and processes and/or distributes as deemed appropriate.
  • Faxes documents as required.
  • Checks patient schedules daily to ensure accuracy and that necessary paperwork is present.
  • Performs Gaps-in-Care communications with parents/patients.
  • Answers patient questions and concerns.
  • Scans documents into eClinical.
  • Assists parents/patients picking up shot records, school excuses, and other paperwork.
  • Receives, sorts and distributes mail.
  • Performs related duties as required.
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrate professional customer service skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Working knowledge of relevant policies and regulations.
  • Ability to flexibly respond to changing demands.
  • Works effectively as a team member with physicians and other staff.
