A patient sitter associate is an entry level position assisting nurses in direct patient care activities. The position provides 24 hour coverage making observations of any problems the patient may be experiencing while assuring patient safety in the designated hospital clinical units. Under the directsupervision of the nurse, the candidate must demonstrate ability to quickly make decisions to report changes in patient conditions/situations. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Dignity Health's mission and policies around safe patient care. Staffing Services (Float Pool) Sitters will be expected to float to all departments within their base facility as well as the sister facility based on staffing needs each shift.
MinimumHigh School Diploma/GED
American Heart Association Basic Life Support
Customer Service & Effective Listening skills required
Experience in healthcare desired
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
