The Patient Transporter 1 safely transports patients, belongings, records, and equipment courteously and promptly using wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, and carts. Essential Functions of the Role Safely transports patients and their belongings, medical records, charts, and equipment to various areas. Maintains a friendly, efficient, positive customer service attitude toward customers, clients, and co-workers. Safely moves patients with traction, I - Vs, drainage apparatus, oxygen, and other encumbrances. Provides emergency help to patients who become ill during transport until proper staff is notified and help arrives. Verifies the proper patient identity by visually checking patient identification or verifying with nursing staff. When transporting a cardiac-monitored patient, an RN will accompany the patient unless the patient meets criteria for nurse-guided removal of cardiac monitoring for inpatient transport.
