Patient Transporter - Full-Time - Shadyside - University of Pittsburgh Medical Center : Job Details

Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned. Acquire electrocardiograms in a manner compatible with the electrocardiographic management system for the nursing units. Recognizes and resolves computer error messages generated by the electrocardiographic carts. Assists other departments/units and satellite areas in this regard as well. Adjust equipment and controls according to the physician's orders to establish protocol. Attach electrodes to the patient's chest, arms, and legs, connect electrodes to leads from the electrocardiogram (EKG) machine and operate the EKG machine to obtain a reading. Delivers supplies, equipment, medication, and other materials to the patient units, and other designated areas in a safe, timely, and accurate manner. Ensures that a handoff of medication occurs with the nurse.
