Patient Transporter - Community Health Systems : Job Details

Job Summary

Under the supervision of assigned Radiology leadership, transports hospital patients to and from various areas of facility and provides clerical and technical support for staff.

Minimal Acceptable Job Qualifications

Experience: No specific experience is required.

Education: At least 18 years or older, with high school diploma or its equivalent (GED) within 12 months of employment or two years of related customer service or patient care experience

Registration/Certification: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification upon completion of orientation.

Job Knowledge & Skills

* Demonstrates basic understanding of patient transportation.

* Requires basic understanding of the related behaviors, needs and comfort appropriate to the age (including child, adolescent, aging adult) and diagnosis of patient served in order to support the provision of an individualized multidisciplinary plan of care.

* Requires general working knowledge of office operations, filing, record keeping and general office procedures as well as working knowledge of a computer or typewriter keyboard.

* Demonstrates well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, to relate effectively with all internal and external customers as needed.

* Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, both verbal and written.
