Patient Transporter- Patient Placement - AnMed Health : Job Details

SUMMARY:The transporter safety transports patients of all ages throughout the facility at the direction of the Patient Placement Coordinator (PPC) or Patient Placement Nurse (PPN).SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES* Demonstrates the ability to make decisions appropriate to job responsibilities in a timely manner.* Transports patients to ancillary departments or units as indicated in a safe and expeditious manner.* Responds to patient care requests in a timely manner and/or notifies the charge nurse to follow-up.* Informs PPC or PPN of patient/family concerns and any issues which need attention.* Follow and enforce all hospital policies, including Infection Control and Safety Procedures.* Ensures stretchers have a full tank of oxygen located on them for transportQUALIFICATIONSRequired:* High School Diploma or GED.* Must obtain BLS certification within one (1) year of hire and maintain.Preferred:* Experience: Good communication skills and can properly lift/transfer patients.
