Patient Transporter- Patient Placement - AnMed : Job Details

SUMMARY:The transporter safety transports patients of all ages throughout the facility at the direction of the Patient Placement Coordinator (PPC) or Patient Placement Nurse (PPN).SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES

• Demonstrates the ability to make decisions appropriate to job responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Transports patients to ancillary departments or units as indicated in a safe and expeditious manner.
• Responds to patient care requests in a timely manner and/or notifies the charge nurse to follow-up.
• Informs PPC or PPN of patient/family concerns and any issues which need attention.
• Follow and enforce all hospital policies, including Infection Control and Safety Procedures.
• Ensures stretchers have a full tank of oxygen located on them for transport

QUALIFICATIONS Required:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must obtain BLS certification within one (1) year of hire and maintain.

Preferred:

• Experience: Good communication skills and can properly lift/transfer patients.
