Payment Processor / Freight Cashier 774 South Shelmore Boulevard Suite 101, Mount Pleasant, SC 29464 On-site role 8:30am-5pm Mon-Fri (w/1 hour lunch) What is OOCL? Within our organization, Payment Processor are responsible to process the mail received on a daily basis. They also process the payment received from customers and clear the receipt of Original Bills of Lading (OBL) to allow for the cargo to be released to our customers. In addition, Payment Processor must also assist resolving in a timely manner any issues preventing processing of payment or clearing of OBL. Job Responsibilities:
  • Receive, review, and process all incoming Bills of Lading (B/L) and checks for shipment release in OOCL enterprise system.
  • Monitor and action the freight cashier mailbox emails, and phone calls to resolve customer problems with B/L(s), payments and cargo release.
  • Research and follow up overpayments, under payments, unbilled charges with internal and external parties. Create/Issue customer invoices for miscellaneous charges as needed.
  • Make deposits into the online banking system and prepare daily deposit for reconciliation with OOCL enterprise system.
Preferred Skills:
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, time management and flexibility
  • Able to work in fast pace environment
  • Knowledge of OOCL Account Receivable (AR) systems
  • Understanding of Industry related regulations (Customs, terminals operations)
Qualifications:
  • Must be able to function in MS Office, especially Excel, Access, and Outlook
  • Knowledge of accounting
  • Willing to learn or knowledge of Industry regulations (customs, terminal operations, etc.)
