The Payroll Administrator performs all activities necessary to process multiple payrolls, including records maintenance, electronic timecards, documenting and updating procedures, and preparing senior management level reporting. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Payroll. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of multiple payrolls for Union and Non-Union payrolls on a weekly and bi-weekly basis.
  • Lead the payroll and time off process for 32BJ and Local 94 union employees in collaboration with local supervisors.
  • Manage and address payroll related inquiries received by the department.
  • Analyze reports during the processing of payroll to identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Prepare, maintain and develop reports for the reporting and auditing of payroll.
  • Provide technical knowledge and support of the payroll system.
  • Assist with testing of system modifications and update releases to ensure the proper functioning of payroll processes.
  • Maintain knowledge of the system specifications and evaluate functionality to improve processes and proactively manage the needs of campus partners.
  • Collaborate with the payroll team to ensure that department deliverables are met.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years payroll experience.
  • Understanding of federal, state and local laws and regulations governing how employees are paid.
  • Must be organized with a keen attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks and work in a collaborative setting while maintaining a level of independence.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Processing expertise in higher education sector.
  • Union payroll processing experience.
  • Workday payroll knowledge.
  • FPC designation.
TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Intermediate level of proficiency in Excel is required.
WORK MODE
  • Hybrid - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions. #LI-HYBRID
