Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Analyst for a client in Overland Park, KS. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in high-volume payroll processing, multi-state payroll, and proficiency with UKG software. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the integrity and processing of all payroll cycles for salaried and hourly employees across multiple states.
- Ensure accurate pay statements reflecting proper pay for hours worked, salary/rate changes, retroactive pay calculations, terminations, benefit deductions, and other payments.
- Properly withhold deductions for benefits and other deductions from employee paychecks.
- Ensure employee time tracking for non-working hours (paid time off, vacation, floating holidays, etc.) is properly input into the payroll system as per company policy.
- Track and approve salary non-exempt overtime in the Time & Attendance system.
- Process short-term disability payments and reconcile with the insurance provider's information.
- Serve as a backup for Canadian payroll as needed.
- Provide HR-level support in HR master data coordination.
- Resolve daily operational problems of intermediate complexity and provide superior customer service to all employees.
- Maintain a database of legal contracts and lead projects to implement changes within the department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in high-volume payroll processing and multi-state payroll.
- Proficiency with UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with Canadian payroll is a plus.
