This role requires strong attention to detail, knowledge of payroll and accounting principles, and proficiency with relevant software.Key ResponsibilitiesPayroll Management:
  • Process and administer payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records, including timekeeping, wage adjustments, and benefits deductions.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee inquiries regarding paychecks and deductions.
  • Prepare and file payroll tax reports (e.g., 941s, W-2s, 1099s) and ensure timely tax deposits.
  • Stay updated on changes to payroll laws and regulations.
Accounting Support:
  • Perform general accounting duties, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processing.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations, general ledger entries, and month-end and year-end closings.
  • Prepare financial reports and summaries as requested by management.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
  • Monitor and manage expense reports and reimbursements.
Compliance and Documentation:
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial and payroll records.
  • Collaborate with HR and management on employee records related to payroll and benefits.
QualificationsEducation and Experience:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in payroll and accounting roles.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Proficiency in payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll regulations and accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in Payroll (e.g., CPP) or Accounting (e.g., CPA or CMA).
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems.
