Summary: We are seeking an experienced specialist to drive our payroll and benefits functions. This role is responsible for overseeing payroll processing, benefits administration and compliance. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations while enhancing employee engagement with benefits programs. This opportunity also includes interfacing with talent acquisition onboarding to provide a holistic HR career development for the candidate's professional growth.Job Responsibilities:Payroll Oversight:
  • Processing of biweekly payroll for all US employees; multiple entities; time and attendance management; make recommendations for policies and procedures; ensure compliance with state and federal labor and wage and hour law.
  • 401k plan administration; payroll deduction and contribution processing; employer contribution administration.
  • Oversee payroll systems and software, ensuring data integrity and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Resolve any issues that impact payroll specifications, including addressing tax notices for each entity and any discrepancies promptly.
  • HRIS management and additional system and reporting functionalities; ensure accuracy and integrity of information.
  • Stay up to date on state-specific payroll laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure accurate setup and maintenance of employee payroll information, including tax forms, direct deposit details and benefits selection.
  • Accurately process final payroll for departing employees while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and providing necessary benefits continuation information.
Benefits Strategy and Administration:
  • Drive benefit enrollment and the administration of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
  • Evaluate and negotiate benefit plan options to ensure competitive offerings that align with organizational goals.
  • Provide strategic guidance on benefits communication and employee education initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to improve payroll and benefits administration.
  • Facilitate training on payroll systems and benefits programs.
  • Partner with our benefits providers on open enrollment.
Compliance and Reporting:
  • Complete regular reporting for employee benefits: ACA, 1099, 401(k), Workers Comp audits, Unemployment, NDT Testing, 401k Audits.
  • Ensure compliance with all labor laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements related to payroll and benefits.
  • Prepare and analyze payroll and benefits reports for Headquarters and other ad hoc requests.
Collaboration and Strategic Planning:
  • Benefit-cost analysis and compliance; conduct research, analyze plan options, conduct cost analysis, and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments to align payroll and benefits strategies with organizational objectives.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of HR initiatives such as wellness events that align with corporate KPIs.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and benefits legislation and best practices.
  • Proven experience with payroll software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be comfortable interacting with members of the company at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively and gracefully solve or identify problems as they arise.
Preferred:
  • Experience using Paychex.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification.
  • Experience with benefits administration platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
The annual base compensation range for this role sits between: $80,000 - $100,000This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Mapletree. Compensation offers are based on a wide range of factors including previous work experience, specific industry experience, relevant skills, training and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
