This role involves processing payroll, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining accurate records. The Payroll Assistant will handle various payroll-related tasks while prioritizing confidentiality and data security. This position is essential for ensuring timely and accurate employee compensation.ResponsibilitiesReview time cards in the Time and Attendance system for all hospital departments to ensure accuracy.Process adjustments to time cards for previous pay periods based on the Authorization for Payroll Adjustment form or directives from department Directors/Managers.Edit computer-generated reports from the time and attendance system, making necessary corrections before processing Lawson Payroll.Seal and sort payroll checks and direct deposits for distribution to employees.Produce manual payroll checks as needed for specific departments.Generate and maintain all payroll report files for record-keeping and compliance.Distribute labor and hour reports to the RAS Server for review by Directors.Prepare payroll vouchers for Accounts Payable, including garnishments, child support, insurance, and miscellaneous deductions.Electronically file federal and state tax deposits in compliance with regulations.Respond to inquiries from state unemployment agencies, banks, credit references, employment verifications, and mortgage brokers.Prepare and review garnishee deduction payments for accuracy before submission to Accounts Payable.Perform routine office duties, including maintaining payroll files and monitoring storage for records eligible for purging.Scan all payroll-related documents and validate weekly shift eligibility for accuracy.QualificationsOne year's experience in payroll or general accounting procedures.Competencies SkillsEssential:* Clear Communication Skills Both Written and Verbal* Knowledge Of Basic Computer Programs* Able To Keep Confidential Information Regarding Patients, Team Members* Able To Withstand Crisis Situations* Has Skills to Provides Customer Service to Patients, Team Members and VisitorsCredentialsEducationEssential:* High school graduate or equivalentEntryUSD $18.75/Hr.ExpertUSD $29.06/Hr.#J-18808-Ljbffr
