Employment Type: hybrid 3x a week in the office

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Associate to administer and analyze the full scope of payroll processing. This role involves overseeing payroll for over 400 employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, and providing accurate payroll reporting to Finance and other departments. The ideal candidate will have experience in payroll auditing, tax compliance, and staying abreast of regulatory changes to ensure seamless operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and process full-cycle payroll, including reviewing information for accuracy, entering payroll transactions, auditing earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • Provide payroll reporting to Finance and other colleagues as needed.
  • Lead federal, state, and local tax compliance, including routine tax reconciliations and processing filings.
  • Verify accuracy of regulatory filings produced by vendors, such as W-2s and 941s, and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Stay updated on tax regulations to ensure compliance, including researching new or changing regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal partners and payroll vendors to handle regulatory changes in the payroll systems.
  • Support year-end activities, including the preparation and distribution of required tax documents.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll operations.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of payroll processing experience, including working with payroll systems for large employee bases (400+ employees).
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax compliance.
  • Proficiency in payroll software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to manage confidential information.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Payroll certification (e.g., CPP, FPC) is a plus.
