This position will support our diverse operations, including hotels, restaurants, and retail locations in Hood River and Cascade Locks, OR. This full-time position reports to the Human Resources Manager. In this role, you will leverage technology to enhance payroll and benefits functions while supporting employees across the organization.   • Process semi-monthly payroll, including payroll deductions, wage garnishments, and processing all applicable personnel changes.
  • Conduct post-payroll activities, such as creating journal entries and distribution of paychecks.
  • Administer employee benefits, including open enrollment, mid-year enrollments, and COBRA management.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Maintain HR files and records to ensure accurate and organized documentation.
  • Assist with all HR related compliance activities such as EEO-1 filings, ACA compliance, OSHA records, and other mandatory reporting.
  • Produces HR related data reporting and selected analytics.
  • Assists with and supports staffing changes, including onboarding, terminations, and leaves of absence.
  • Respond to unemployment claims with relevant documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • An associate degree or higher in a business-related field, or 2+ years of experience in payroll and employee benefits, is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Previous experience with Paycom or similar payroll/HRIS system preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and precision in all tasks, especially when handling sensitive payroll and benefits data.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to participate in process improvements and collaborative HR initiatives.
