Job Description The Payroll Clerk I is responsible for assisting in implementing a payroll and time-reporting procedure. Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations. Further, responsible for the accurate and timely paying as per union agreement. Demonstrates and provides outstanding employee relations at all times. Presents oneself in a neat and clean appearance at all times. Performs other duties as assigned. Essential Duties
- Ensures compliance with all department and company policies, procedures, internal controls and government regulations.
- Assists in implementing payroll and time-reporting procedures.
- Ensures timely payment of employees and taxes.
- Monitors and audits payroll data input and payroll runs.
- Reviews all requests for disbursement for proper authenticity and documentation.
- Designs payroll forms.
- Participates in annual payroll budgeting.
Job Requirements Physical and Mental Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to work long hours. Ability to make decisions, formulate and communicate ideas read and understands spreadsheets. Must have an excellent math aptitude. Must have ADP Workforce Now experience. Proficient Excel experience required. Work/Educational Experience
- Must be at least 18 years old, possess a high school or equivalent diploma and have the ability to obtain the appropriate license pursuant to the New York State Lottery regulations.
- Two (2) years' related work experience
