MJE is looking for an entry-level Payroll Clerk!
Position Purpose: To assist with processing payroll for exempt and non-exempt personnel utilizing a wide variety of administrative, computer and customer service skills
Essential Responsibilities
- Inputs & verifies data from basic timesheets into the JDE payroll system on a timely basis
- Enter & verify employee information into JDE following processes & procedures
- Process weekly payroll, balance payroll reports & submit for processing
- Familiar with payroll taxes, especially state taxes and reciprocity for assigned cycle
- Forward employee ACH & non-union deductions to responsible person
- Maintains contact with fiel and satellite office personnel in support of payroll processing
- Assists with the verification of union wage and benefits data in JDEwards
- Assists with reporting of weekly and monthly union benefits and coordinates payments

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Associates Degree in Accounting (Preferred, Not Required)
- Knowledge of union contracts and/or legal experience helpful
Work Environment
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position over 50% of the time
- The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc
- Continuously operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, scanner, and computer printer
- The person in this position frequently communicates with employees and coworkers and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
- Occasionally lifting 20 pounds
