PAYROLL CLERK - Crowther Roofing : Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management and a keen eye for accuracy in following policies and procedures.

Duties:

* Receives and enters timesheets for all employees using payroll software and hours worked balancing.

* Perform tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records. Data entry for new hires, terminations, changes in pay rates, and direct deposit information.

* Creates weekly journal entries, maintains payroll, and records the accumulation and use of vacations, holidays, sick days, and miscellaneous leaves of absence.

* Calculates piece work overtime, missed hours, cut separate checks, and record net zero entries.

* Perform multiple journal entries and weekly payroll processing including check distribution, ACH & PP uploads.

* Utilize technical accounting skills to ensure accurate processing of debits and credits.

* Process garnishments, verification of employment, and Davis Beach reporting.

* Overtime is required to meet payroll deadlines

* Confidentiality is required in all aspects of payroll.

Experience:

* Familiarity with the Starbuilder payroll system preferred

* Ability to use Adobe Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

* Strong understanding of payroll management best practices and payroll taxes.

* Proficient in data entry, attention to detail, and the ability to identify discrepancies.

* Excellent time management, analytical, and general math skills.

* Staying current on legal and regulatory changes that affect payroll.
