Job PurposeThe Payroll Clerk coordinates activities between Human Resources and the Payroll Department. Payroll Clerk is responsible for Staff Reimbursements, Reimbursable Services, misc. deductions, and other payroll entries. Payroll Clerk provides back up support to the Payroll Supervisor and provides customer services to employees with questions related to payroll, taxes, or deductionsQualifications
- Possession of a High School Diploma or Equivalent;
- Two (2) years' experience in a business environment with payroll/accounting related duties.
Core Job Duties
- Develop best practices to improve efficiency of payroll processes.
- Maintain employee payroll records. Ensure records are kept up-to-date and accurate.
- Helps to ensure that payroll is processed timely and accurately.
- Investigate previous payrolls to ensure no double payments of hours worked or services rendered.
- Audit of payroll files prior to and after sending files to ADP for processing.
- Address payroll related queries and requests from employees.
- Assist in payroll calculations, deductions, wage garnishments, tax filings and child support.
- Report any suspected fraud or abuse issues to the Payroll Supervisor, Human Resource Officer and/or the Executive Team. The Human Resource Officer will forward to the Corporate Compliance Committee.
- Adherence to all applicable evidence-based practice models.
- Orally communicate information effectively and accurately.
- Assure program operates within the constraints of the agency's certification (CARF, DMH) standards and strategic plan related to clinical care.
- Abide by program and agency policies and procedures.
- Other job duties and special projects as assigned.
