Payroll Clerk - Staffmark Group : Job Details

Salary: $40,000 - $60,000 per year

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

In this role, you'll ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, manage employee data, and maintain compliance with payroll regulations. You'll collaborate with HR and accounting to keep records up to date, address payroll inquiries, and support tasks to improve efficiency and employee satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

* Process bi-weekly or monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy of timecards, earnings, deductions, bonuses, and adjustments

* Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system (new hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes)

* Address payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies

* Prepare and submit payroll tax filings and manage garnishments, deductions, and benefits

* Generate payroll reports for audits and financial reporting

* Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations

* Collaborate with HR on employee benefits, leave balances, and time off

* Assist with year-end payroll tasks, including W-2 distribution

Qualifications:

* 2+ years of experience in payroll or a similar role

* Proficient with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel

* Knowledge of payroll tax laws and compliance requirements

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

* Ability to handle confidential information and work collaboratively with HR and accounting teams
