Description: A Payroll Clerk is responsible for assisting in the administration of an organization's payroll system. This role involves tasks related to data entry, payroll processing, and ensuring the accurate and timely payment of employee wages and benefits. Payroll Clerks play a crucial role in maintaining payroll records and supporting the overall payroll function. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the processing of payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Compile and review timesheet data, making necessary adjustments and corrections as needed.
  • Verify and input employee information, including new hires, terminations, and changes in employment status.
  • Calculate and process payroll deductions, including taxes, benefits, and other withholdings.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of payroll reports, summaries, and statements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, providing timely and accurate information.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate recordkeeping and reporting of payroll data.
  • Assist in the maintenance of payroll records and documentation in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Stay updated on payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and accuracy in payroll processing.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in accounting or related field is a plus.
  • 0-5 years of experience in payroll administration or a related role.
  • Basic understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and employment laws.
  • Proficiency in using payroll software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and payroll processing.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities, with a customer service-oriented approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to changes in payroll regulations and technology.
