Position Summary: The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all financial reporting. This position requires maintaining a high level of confidentiality and security. The coordinator helps maintain precise processing and reporting and collaborates closely with other departments to ensure that financial data is accurately recorded and reported per regulatory requirements and company policies.
Job Qualifications:
* High School Diploma/GED
* Associates degree in related field preferred
* At least two (2) to four (4) years related experience
* Dayforce experience preferred
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities
* Process bi-weekly payroll for all company employees, including the calculation and management of garnishments maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
* Rotates responsibilities between primary and backup payroll duties to ensure seamless operations.
* Reviews and processes union initiation fees and dues.
* Collaborates with HR to ensure accurate employee records and timely updates and complete payroll-related-changes.
* Assist employees in updating their direct deposit information and tax withholdings, ensuring timely and accurate changes.
* Respond promptly to inquiries regarding payroll, garnishments, direct deposits, and tax matters.
* Retrieve General Ledger (GL) downloads from Dayforce and review them for accuracy before uploading them to Solomon.
* Complete the payroll monthly bank entries for all companies.
* Complete the payroll Accrual for all companies, monthly and annually.
* Update the Monthly full-time equivalent (FTE) Report.
* Ensures that all workers' compensation true-up processes are completed, along with any other necessary filings related to payroll.
* Complete Canopy Payroll processing.
* Complete monthly reconciliation of the payroll accounts.
* Assist in conducting payroll 401k audit reviews throughout the year.
* Aid in performing self-audits of payroll data and 401k deductions.
* Provide backup assistance for monthly payroll-related AP disbursement check requests.
* Process Canopy's accounts payable by accurately recording and tracking all incoming invoices and outgoing payments.

Knowledge
* Payroll Regulations: Understanding of federal and state payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
* Accounting Principles: Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and basic accounting practices.
* Financial Software: Proficiency in payroll and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Dayforce, SAP).
* Data Analysis: Knowledge of data analysis techniques and tools for interpreting financial data.
