M&J is seeking a Payroll Manager whose duties include paying employees, compiling payroll information, completing reports and maintaining accurate payroll records.

Responsibilities:

Maintains payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Collaborating with the human resources and finance departments to seamlessly integrate payroll and employee data. Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers. Pays employees by directing the production and issuance of paychecks or electronic transfers to bank accounts. Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages. Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employers social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments. Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies. Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests. Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Provides backup to the Controller as needed. Ensure that payroll goes out in a timely manner. Prepare reports for quarterly, yearly, and weekly reports. Files documents for the payroll. Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field

Minimum of 5 years experience
