Payroll Manager - Red Shift : Job Details

Our client is seeking a Payroll Manager to oversee and manage payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing. This full-time role is based in Schenectady, NY, and offers a collaborative, mission-driven environment with the potential for flexibility after an initial period. Responsibilities of the Payroll Manager: •Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems for accurate and timely payroll transactions. •Ensure proper handling of salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions. •Oversee payroll updates for new hires, terminations, and pay rate changes. •Maintain accurate records and generate reports on payroll transactions. •Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulations. •Facilitate audits by providing payroll records and documentation as needed. •Recommend improvements to payroll processes and systems. •Supervise and direct the payroll team when applicable. •Handle year-end reporting and generate ad hoc financial reports as needed. Job Requirements Qualifications of the Payroll Manager: •Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field. •3-5 years of experience in payroll management. •Extensive knowledge of payroll functions, including tax management and internal controls. •Familiarity with Federal and NYS Department of Labor payroll regulations. •Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, with experience in payroll software (ADP preferred). •Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills. •Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
