Are you an experienced payroll professional looking to join an organization and make an impact? The Weitz Company is hiring a Payroll Manager to provide expertise and ensure accurate and timely payroll processing. This role will have the exciting opportunity to review current processes and systems and find ways to improve them for efficiency and accuracy. We believe our employees to be our most valuable asset, and we are committed to growing a diverse and inclusive culture that inspires, motivates, and continuously improves.What You'll Do:* Oversee the payroll process and provide coverage/assistance to payroll processing team* Coordinate and facilitate internal/external audits* Identify continuous improvement initiatives and implementation plan to improve efficiency and accuracy while supporting compliance requirements* Ensure federal/state tax reports, unemployment reports and payments, tax deposits, and related items are completed by deadlines* Ensure payroll records are accurate* Stay informed on payroll-related federal, state, and local laws/regulations* Manager third party vendor relationships and updates for software/systems* Develop, mentor, and coach payroll team members* Collaborate with HR team on employee benefitsWhat We're Looking For:* Experience:* 7+ years of payroll experience required* 2+ years of experience managing/leading others* Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) designation required* Experience processing payroll for union employees is a plus* Degree required - an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered* Skills:* Detail-oriented and a high level of accuracy* Excellent written and verbal communication skills* Analytical thinker with the desire to identify and implement process improvements* Ability to prioritize workload for yourself and your team to meet crucial deadlines* Excellent problem-solving skills* Technology:*
