Job SummaryThe Payroll Manager will support and supervise the organizations payroll functions, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. The position reports to the Payroll Director.
Responsibilities - Trains new staff in the department.
- Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
- Maintains, and reviews payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
- Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
- Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
- Oversees the payroll processing team (4) making critical decisions regarding work processes, service delivery and compliance with the support of the Lead Payroll Specialist and under the guidance of the Payroll Director.
- Advises and provides guidance to Payroll leaders in managing the team of payroll specialist and support team in day-to-day task
- Responsible for collaboration with Payroll Director on the evaluation and performance management of direct reports
- Works closely with Compensation, benefits, HRIS, Field HR and Operations.
- Works in coordination with the Lead Payroll Specialist to Inform and provide updates Payroll Director on payroll department issues and initiatives.
- Support all payroll audits and coordinates with other internal teams to expediate results.
- Work on special projects as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required.
- 6 or more years' experience in multi-state enterprise level payroll experience required
- 6+ years of payroll experience supervising and managing a team.
- Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
- Proficient knowledge of payroll regulations and compliance.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills - FPC and/or CPP designation desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficient with payroll software.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions - Remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
