Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll operations, focusing on process improvements, customer service, and productivity.
  • Develop and review payroll-related policies and procedures as needed.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor a team of payroll professionals.
  • Manage third-party vendor relationships for payroll processing.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation of earnings and payments, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Oversee timely processing of payroll files to meet strict deadlines.
  • Ensure payroll transactions are accurately classified and comply with accounting principles and audit requirements.
  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure data accuracy and proper accounting for transactions.
  • Maintain open communication across departments, particularly with Venues, to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Identify and implement opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities and achieve results with minimal supervision.
  • Lead payroll efforts for Workday payroll implementation.
  • Provide training on financial systems as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Carry out supervisory duties in line with company policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning tasks, evaluating performance, and addressing employee concerns in collaboration with Human Resources.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (required).
  • 10+ years of payroll operations experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Workday payroll processing.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage payroll departments in large, multi-location organizations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; aptitude for learning and supporting new technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll and accounting procedures, as well as payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Strong ability to work independently while fostering team collaboration.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to manage complex priorities efficiently.
