Job Description:
The Fredericktown R-1 School District is seeking applicants for the position of Payroll Supervisor. The position will begin in January so that the new applicant can be trained before taking over the position for the 25-26 school year. This is a 12 month position. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepare all payrolls according to function-object-building and program in keeping with contracts and/or salary schedules. Regular monthly payrolls for staff, monthly substitute payrolls, summer school, career ladder, after-school programs, summer student worker payrolls,etc.
Responsible for expending all deductions from payrolls such as taxes, insurance, retirement, annuities, and furnishing information to employees and retirees on any changes to policies throughout the year. Works with insurance companies at open enrollment time as well as throughout the year.
Make deposits on all taxes within liability periods along with quarterly and annual reports and be responsible for W-2's, 1099's, and quarterly reports, and Affordable Care Act reporting.
Deposit all monies received from retirees on their insurance and keep records of their payments. Notify retirees of late payments and advise them of any changes in policies. Answer their calls and help them with policies as needed.
Make monthly retirement reports and beginning and ending of year reports to the retirement systems.
Reconcile bills and make monthly payments to various insurance companies based on the benefits and deductions derived from paychecks. Make monthly payments on any 403(b) contributions derived from paychecks.
Write checks for contracted transportation.
Furnish information necessary for the audit for all payrolls, quarterly reports, and retirement reports annually to the auditor selected by the board.
Obtain and maintain personnel files, including background checks and E-Verify employment eligibility reports, and ensure that proper and current paperwork is kept for legal purposes.
