The Department of Administrative Services is currently seeking a Payroll Processor to join their Accounting team. The Payroll Processor will complete payroll processing of approximately 92 bi-weekly batches and 30 monthly. Process interimis for corrections. They assist payroll processors state wide with payroll processing questions. This position is a back up to the garnishment position. Apply to join our team today!Job Duties: Assist with the processing of garnishments for State employees. Finalize both the monthly and bi-weekly payroll for all State agencies. Prepare the related payroll taxes for the State systems. Process interims (emergency payment requests) and maintain the data integrity for the payroll section of Enterprise One. Assist agencies with questions on processing their payrolls and resolving errors in initial payroll processing. Receive, review, and process legal and court notices regarding State employee garnishments and maintain garnishment files and respond to garnishment questions as needed. Process the quarterly 941 tax report and the annual W-3 form. Monitor help desk tickets and provide support and training to end users experiencing payroll problems. Other duties assigned within the scope of the classification. Requirements / Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications: Associates degree in accounting, finance, business administration, statistics or related field and experience with accounting/financial management systems OR 2 years' experience with professional accounting procedures including developing and modifying accounting/financial management systems.Preferred Qualifications: Experience in payroll processing, preparing period, quarter, and annual payroll taxes. Experience and proficiency with the Enterprise One system.Other: Regular and Reliable attendance is required.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of Federal and State laws and regulations governing payroll processing and tax preparation.
