At Harding, Shymanski & Co., we live our core purpose, to help our clients, our people and the firm to be more successful. We are seeking a client facing Payroll Project Manager for our Evansville, Indiana or Louisville, Kentucky office to be a key contributor to our Outsourcing team.

As a Payroll Project Manager, you will focus on the delivery of quality client service and set up for various payroll add-ons for assigned clients.

Further, you will have meaningful support from firm leadership for substantial development to grow as a professional.

How You Will Contribute

The Payroll Project Specialist is responsible for setting up various payroll add-on services for our clients. Add-on services may include but are not limited to timekeeping, onboarding & offboarding, learning management system (LMS), benefits, and carrier feeds. This client facing position requires the team member to meet with clients to determine their specific payroll add-on service needs, to complete the add-on setup, and to support our clients through training. This role is key to supporting our current payroll clients' needs and for the future growth of our department.

As a Payroll Project Manager at HSC, you will be responsible for:

  • Meeting with current and prospective payroll clients to determine client-specific needs
  • The full cycle of payroll advisory services
  • Completing required learning and development coursework. Remain current on payroll system knowledge.
  • Utilizing the demonstration environment to conduct testing.
  • Working to ensure add-on services are working in alignment with client needs.
  • Work in partnership with payroll department to respond to client inquiries.
  • Responsible for mentoring and coaching others in the department for effective knowledge transfer.
  • Research, document, and respond to questions and issues from clients related to client specific information ensuring timely feedback.
  • Maintaining knowledge of payroll operations procedures to ensure compliance with payroll and client requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position's function.
  • Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma - Required
  • Minimum of 5 years of prior payroll experience
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) accreditation preferred
  • Experience in payroll setup
  • Demonstrates analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to apply critical thinking to situations
  • Self-motivated
  • Work autonomously to meet or exceed client expectations
