Our Client is a dynamic and growing agriculture company committed to excellence in all aspects of their operations. They are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to assist the team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of their organization while utilizing your expertise in managing multi-state payroll, certified payroll, and ensuring accurate and timely compensation for their 150+ employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Process multi-state weekly payroll for approximately 150 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Handle certified payroll requirements, including preparation and submission of certified payroll reports as per project specifications.
  • Perform reconciliations of payroll-related accounts, including but not limited to tax withholdings, benefits, and deductions.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate employee data, including new hires, terminations, and changes in compensation or benefits.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll matters, resolving issues and discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Stay updated on relevant changes in payroll laws and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports to management as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Experience with certified payroll processes and reporting.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly organized with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
