Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for processing, validation and produce accurate pay to employees in accordance with the instructions and adjustments provided by HR. Also, the payroll specialist should maintain accurate data and ensure that payroll deductions and reporting comply with the local requirements in country. The payroll specialist has a range of duties that includes a high-volume multi-state payroll, assisting with resolving state and local tax issues.
What will your job look like?
* Compilation and processing of transactional payroll.
* Process payroll requirements on a frequency basis (biweekly, semimonthly monthly, yearly, advance pay).
* Multi-jurisdiction payroll tax/regulatory knowledge experience required.
* Canadian payroll and tax experience preferred.
* Multi-state US payroll and tax experience required.
* Prepare and processing of Full and Final Settlement/Pay.
* Ensure accuracy of statutory calculation for local reporting and compliance.
* Ensure accuracy of other payments and deductions processed via payroll.
* Deliver accurate payroll reports both internal and external.
* Remittance of payments to tax authorities, government offices and 3rd parties.
* Adhere to payroll process steps and controls.
* Ability to reconcile payroll accounts.
* Balance and Post journal entries.
* Manage employees inquires/request.
* Maintain direct ownership of task/projects.
* Knowledge of Kronos or other timekeeping system helpful.
* Able to set up and process Garnishments for multi-state.
* Collaborate with A/P, Accounting and Human Resources.
* Deliver quick wins in the process or project initiatives for improvement.
* Work closely with Payroll Supervisor, Manager, Regional Controller, internal stakeholders, and vendors to prioritize business and information needs. matter within existing processes.
All you need is....
* Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in a related field, with at least 4 to 6 years' solid working experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
* Experience handling multi-state payroll.
* Understanding of payroll tax laws.
* Knowledge of year end reconciliation.
* Strong skills in MS Excel and with background in SAP.
* Strong experience using ADP or other payroll systems.
* Ability to troubleshoot issues, handle system enhancements and upgrades.
* Must be analytical and detail oriented
* Can work with minimal supervision
* Ability to cope with ambiguity and change and maintain high level of professionalism when working under pressure.
* Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills within a multi-cultural business environment.
