Ford and SK On are investing billions in Kentucky and Tennessee including building three state-of-the art battery manufacturing facilities between the two campuses at BlueOval City in Tennessee and BlueOval SK Battery Park in Kentucky. These brand-new advanced manufacturing facilities will use Ford's 100-years of automobile manufacturing expertise and SK On's 30+ years of electric vehicle battery expertise to become the world's best battery manufacturer.
The Payroll Specialist at BlueOval SK will have a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be a key member of the start-up team, launching the facility from the ground up.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the administration of the payroll, absence, time keeping functions at BOSK. The Payroll Specialist will report to the Payroll Manager and work closely with the Payroll Specialist, Payroll Accountant, Benefits, HR, Accounting, Finance, and Treasury teams as needed.
The Payroll Specialist will contribute to the overall development and administration of payroll systems in the following way:
* The Payroll Specialist acts as the technical and functional expert related to all payroll, absence, and time.
* Responsible for overall operations of payroll related functions related to successful completion and administration of the payroll.
* Ideal candidate manages payroll functions leading system implementation and administration of systems, working with third party vendors, opening cases, or troubleshooting issues as needed.
* Has experience with Workday payroll and UKG timekeeping systems implementations, operations, and administration.
* Periodically assists with employee benefits administration, withholding forms, and Workday HCM payroll questions as needed.
* Responsible for reviewing time keeping, leaves, absences, payroll processing, including preparing payroll, processing and auditing deductions, garnishments, creating reports, running benefits audits, and monitoring the billing processes.
* Vendor management, running general ledger interface, and printing payroll reports routinely and on an ad hoc basis.
* Ensuring the payroll processes are followed, documented, and all back up is kept for future auditing and reconcilling purposes.
* Experience with uploading garnishments to ADP Smart Compliance, downloading invoices, and assisting with weekly and semi-monthly payroll processing, time integration files, ad hoc payroll changes, and ensuring payroll reports are reviewed before being sent to management for final approval.
Other:
* Must be willing to assist employees with payroll and timekeeping questions and creating job aides as needed.
* Must be willing to reach out to managers and key stakeholders ensuring all approvals are received without delays to time keeping integrations and payroll processing.
* Must be willing to assist during nonstandard hours at times to meet payroll deadlines or special projects that come up.
* Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, accounting, or related field.
* Payroll and Human Resources experience relating to payroll services and applications, especially in a manufacturing environment.
* Experience with joint venture and start-ups is a plus, willing to think outside of the box to resolve issues.
* Must be a self-starter, willing to hit the ground running and willing to collaborate across multiple key stakeholder areas within the rapidly growing business.
* Highly analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
* Experience working with HCM and timekeeping systems. Experience with advanced Excel pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and ensuring data is clean for reporting, auditing, and reconciliation purposes.
* Experience working in a fast-paced environment and be willing to adapt to change as needed day-to-day.
Preferred Requirements:
* Effective communication and presentation skills: oral, written and listening.
* High level of analytical and organizational skills; ability to multi-task.
* Demonstrate time and task management skills including working independently and collaborating within the team as needed.
* Proficient in MS Office products, DocuSign, and Adobe Acrobat.
* Proficient in in Workday, UKG, and ADP applications is a plus.
* Thorough understanding of payroll administration including billing, reconciling, auditing, and administration.
Additional Information
* Some travel may be required throughout 2024 along with future relocation to Tennessee (based on preference and interview)
* This position will work in an office environment but will be hybrid as we build the plant and the facilities.
