Job Description :

Are you an experienced payroll professional looking for a new opportunity? PDS Tech may have the right job for you! We are hiring a Payroll Specialist for one of our clients in the construction industry in Appleton WI. This is a 6 month contract role that may extend longer and pays between $24-$27 per hour to start depending on experience. Schedule is Mon-Fri 8am -5pm.

**Essential Functions**

- Coordinate with field management staff to collect union new hire paperwork. Ensure information is complete and accurate. Follow up on any issues or missing information.

- Create union employee record in ERP system, updating employment data or status changes. Ensure severance, termination, and disciplinary forms are reflected appropriately.

- Review field time entry reports for potential errors in hours, union, pay class, and per diem. Follow up with site teams and address as appropriate prior to payroll processing.

- Process weekly union payroll and off-cycle checks in a timely manner by importing time details and validating entries created. Confirm calculation of earnings, deductions, garnishments, union liabilities, and taxes. Ensure paychecks are distributed on time.

- Prepare monthly union remittances. Using system reports, calculate amounts and submit payment requests, ensuring reconciliation between liabilities accrued and payments. Match payments with labor details and remit to appropriate funds.

- Prepare reports, check for accuracy, and resolve discrepancies as part of business recordkeeping and compliance activities.

- Respond to and resolve any union employee payroll inquiries.

- Process employment verifications and unemployment claims by deadline outlined. Escalate unemployment hearing notices to Human Resources.

- Submit new hire reports to state agencies.

**Pay Details:** $24.00 to $27.00 per hour
