Job Summary We are seeking an experienced certified payroll specialist to join our team! This team member will oversee all of the activities that involve the payment of our company's employees. Your responsibilities will include collecting and verifying timesheets, ensuring that federal and state compliance rules are met and preparing the payroll each work period.Duties & Functions
- Compile and process payroll data such as wage adjustments, commissions payable, and other records for various reports and on as needed basis.
- Manage workflow to ensure all payroll transactions are processed accurately and timely
- Oversee timecard processing; review, edit and troubleshoot
- Track and enter certified payroll data
- Audits time and attendance system for integrity
- Work with time keeping system vendor to ensure system is properly functioning; create codes as needed
- Provide service to all employees regarding concerns with payroll; research and troubleshoot inquiries
- Answer inquiries regarding wage and employment verification
- Answer survey data requests (government, organization, etc.
- Understand proper taxation of employer paid benefits (non-cash fringe benefits, personal mileage, etc.
- Process garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, tax verifications, third party sick pa
- Manage annual PTO accrual process including review of policy and entry
- Assist in preparing monthly payroll related financial accounting entries.
- Other related duties as assigned.
RequirementsQualifications & Standards
- Associate degree or an equivalent level of experience required. 2-3 years' related experience required.
- Working knowledge of payroll best practices.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state regulations.
- Strong PC skills, including proficiency in Excel.
- Working knowledge of payroll system, Paylocity experience preferred.
