Summary:
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Human Resources Specialist to complete payroll processing and support additional human resources tasks.
This person will be a part of a small human resources team and have full ownership of payroll processing and compliance. This position offers competitive pay, benefits, and 401k.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee multi-state payroll processing, ensuring adherence to applicable state and federal laws.
- Handle employee changes, including pay adjustments, terminations, position changes, and benefit changes.
- Review and approve employee timecards weekly.
- Handle payroll tax filings, handle payroll entries, and adhere to leave policies.
- Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring smooth integration into the company.
- Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies
- Assist employees with benefits enrollment and provide support for open enrollment periods.
- Support recruitment activities, such as job postings, candidate screening, and scheduling interviews.
- Provide administrative assistance to the HR department.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years of experience in processing payroll.
- Experience working within a multi-state payroll environment required.
- Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, compliance, and leave policies.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
