PayrollSpecialist Norman, OkSUMMARY:A Payroll Clerk isresponsible for accurately processing employee wages, managing payroll records,and ensuring compliance with tax laws and company policies. They handle taskssuch as verifying timesheets, calculating deductions, and resolving payroll discrepancieswhile maintaining confidentiality and precision. This role requires strongattention to detail, proficiency with payroll systems, and effectivecommunication with employees and other departments.WHO WEARE:SouthwesternWire Inc. is a leading manufacturer of galvanized wire and fencing productswith locations in Norman Ok, Tulsa OK, and Sacramento CA.We are afamily-owned company for the past 30 years.- 401kwith company match- Majormedical, dental, vision, and life insurance-Company profit sharingWHAT WEARE LOOKING FOR:Someonewho can set their own pace, work in a team environment, and build productiverelationships by solving problems.ESSENTIALDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:Payroll Processing:Collect andverify employee timesheets in partnership with HRCalculatewages, overtime, deductions, and bonuses accurately.Process payrollon a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly).Employee Records Maintenance:Maintain andupdate employee payroll records, including salary, tax withholding, andbanking details.Ensurecompliance with confidentiality and data protection regulations.Compliance and Reporting:Ensure payrollpractices comply with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., taxlaws, wage laws).Prepare andfile payroll tax returns and other compliance documents (e.g., W-2s, W-4s,1099s).Generatereports on payroll activities for management.Benefits Administration:Processbenefits deductions, such as health insurance and retirementcontributions.Coordinatepayroll adjustments for employee benefit enrollments or changes.Issue Resolution:Address andresolve payroll discrepancies, errors, or complaints.Respond toemployee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and tax forms.Systems and Software:Enter andupdate payroll data into payroll software or systems.Ensure payrollsoftware is functioning correctly and updated as needed.Auditing and Reconciliation:Reconcilepayroll accounts with general ledger records.Conductinternal audits to ensure accuracy in payroll calculations and compliance.Timekeeping Management:Monitor andmanage employee timekeeping systems.Verify properapproval for time-off requests, sick leave, and other absences.Communication and Collaboration:Collaboratewith HR and accounting departments on payroll-related issues.Communicatechanges in payroll policies or processes to employees.Miscellaneous Administrative Tasks:Handlegarnishments, levies, and other court-ordered deductions.Maintainpayroll filing systems and archive historical data for reference.QUALIFICATIONREQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, anindividual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
