Payroll Specialist

Location: West Denver / Lakewood (Near Sheridan Area)

Position Overview: Our client, a well-established national electrical construction company in operation since the early 2000s, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to join their team. This role is responsible for managing payroll-related tasks with a strong emphasis on Davis-Bacon and certified payroll compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle pre-time processing for weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance before final submission
• Calculate hourly rates to ensure compliance with wage requirements
• Manage required forms and documentation
• Review and verify subcontractor payroll submissions
• Prepare and submit weekly filings in accordance with regulations
• Utilize the LCP tracker portal for accurate reporting and record-keeping
• Prepare and submit required documentation for NREL projects, ensuring compliance with project-specific requirements
• Oversee OA Certificates and manage apprentice agreements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards
• Manage new hire setup
• Process rate changes in compliance with company policies
• Manage PTO accrual adjustments based on employee eligibility
• Update benefit changes to reflect employee selections and modifications

Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Davis-Bacon and Certified Payroll compliance
• 5+ years of in-house, full-cycle payroll experience
• Experience in construction payroll
• Familiarity with Spectrum and UKG software
• In-depth understanding of U.S. payroll and tax processes required
• Knowledge of payroll laws and regulations
• Must successfully pass a background check and drug test, including screening for cannabis and THC
