The PEAK Embryo Sales Director will be responsible for positioning PEAK embryos into multiple URUS sales channel touchpoints and direct customers, facilitating the creation and logistics of PEAK embryo sales and managing embryo inventory. The primary source of genetics is the internal breeding program of PEAK Genetics. This position requires expertise in cattle genetics, experience with operations management and strong communication skills. The individual in this position will be responsible for facilitating all PEAK embryo sales activities and organizing supporting operations to grow the cattle embryo sales market. This role requires adaptability to market changes, effective relationship management, and strategic thinking to optimize the PEAK global brand, available marketable embryos and sales opportunities across various regions. The successful candidate will be a performance-driven leader with a growth mind-set and a passion for cattle genetics.

This position is an integral member of the PEAK Genetics team and will have a significant impact on the success of the PEAK genetic program. Success in this position will come from ability to collaborate across PEAK teams, URUS teams and PEAK partners and clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Inventory Strategy Development: Formulate and implement inventory management strategies that align with PEAK and URUS strategic goals for global embryo market development. Continuously assess market demand trends to adapt approaches and improve alignment of PEAK embryo inventory with URUS global embryo sales.
  • Operational Excellence: Oversee the logistical aspects of direct embryo sales, inventory management, product shipping and logistics, invoicing and pipeline of new embryo creation strategies.
  • Collaboration with Partners: Work closely with the PEAK Genetics team, PEAK donor housing locations and TransOva Genetics to manage donor selection, mating assignments, embryo production, and shipment logistics. Foster communication and streamline processes between companies and departments.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal URUS brand distribution networks and direct clients. Engage in face-to-face or virtual meetings and develop trust through transparent communication and responsive service.
  • Continuous Improvement: Dedicate time weekly to assess personal and organizational performance, identifying areas for improvement and innovative approaches to enhance sales and operational efficiency.

Organization Alignment & Position Location

  • The position will report to the PEAK Director of Genetics
  • Preference for the position location to be in the URUS headquarters in Madison, WI
  • The position will require some travel with occasional international trips

Candidate Profile

Knowledge & Experience

  • Passion for and in-depth knowledge of the cattle genetics and reproduction industry
  • 5+ years of operational, sales, inventory management, or export experience

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite tools, experience with PowerBI is a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities
  • Resourcefulness to accomplish tasks
  • Proven track record of relationship selling and account management
  • Good understanding of industry trends and market demands in the field of cattle genetics and reproduction
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail

Education

  • Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in an Animal Science related discipline.
