PEAK LIVESTOCK SPECIALIST - Genex Cooperative : Job Details

PEAK has a opening for a Livestock Specialist in Billings, MT., to care for and handle sires in a manner to achieve maximum production levels.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

* Handle sires of varying ages and sizes in a calm, confident manner for optimum production

* Work in a system using established protocols

* Perform regular livestock care including feeding, cleaning, moving cattle, assisting with health testing and veterinary treatments, and other routine tasks

* Operate company farm equipment and vehicles

* Clean and maintain buildings, grounds, and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

* Comfortable working with large animals

* Must have a valid driver's license

* Ability to perform occasional planned weekend duties

* Capability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds

* Capacity to work on feet and stand for long periods of time

* Willingness to learn and follow company protocols

Desired

* Previous livestock handling experience

* Experience detecting health and disease symptoms in cattle

* Ability to perform basic equipment and building maintenance repairs

* Post-secondary education in agriculture or related field

Ideal

* Basic computer skills working with Microsoft Office
