Summary: The Peaks Engineering Assistant Director reports to The Peaks Director of Engineering and assists with or is directed to accomplish, a variety of tasks on a daily basis that will include, but is not limited to specific tasks.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Researching materials and repair and construction alternatives based on repair and maintenance needs and capital needs.
  • Ordering and purchasing of materials as directed.
  • Determines limits and maintains inventories of parts and supplies at adequate levels to ensure materials are on hand.
  • Designs and draws small construction projects based on construction needs and present to Facilities Director.
  • Develops and updates Gantt charts on project planning, progressions and construction schedules and presents to Facilities Director weekly.
  • Develops maintenance and repair schedules for Crew Supervisor based on work load planning to be presented to Facilities Director and Crew Supervisor weekly.
  • Trains and ensures that the Crew Supervisor understands and uses the work order system for all work orders.
  • Updates the work order system, maintains database as well as writes and assigns work orders based on priority.
  • Assists in the develop, implementation, records and ensure that all crew members are trained as needed in all areas of general safety, specific safety, general trainings and departmental trainings maintains and reports status to Director of Engineering on a weekly basis.
  • Recommends safety planning and training based on changes or potential concerns brought by changes in Jobs or changes in safety protocol.
  • Assists in the development of building repair lists and plans for repairs based on budgeting constraints and urgency of need.
  • Attends manager level meetings with Director of Engineering and or in place of the Director as needed.
  • Develops and maintains all records, maps, photos and documents of buildings and projects physically and electronically.
  • Assures that the Crew Supervisor is repairing and constructing projects based on design and budget parameters and reports on any discrepancies to the Director.
  • Maintains Kronos based on budgeting for capital projects.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Equipment and Tool Operation: Employee must be capable of operating a variety of equipment relative to this position which shall include, but not limited to, trucks, skid steer, electric power tools, levels, shovels, picks, masonry equipment, ladders, other hand and power tools that are needed to complete a certain task in a safe and effective manner. Education and/or Experience:
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Minimum three years of experience in Facilities Maintenance or a similar trade or building construction related field.
  • Experience in conflict resolution when dealing with staff.
  • Basic repair experience preferred in drywall, painting, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lock systems, framing, masonry, A/V systems, fire/life safety systems, boilers, chillers, refrigeration.
  • Certified Pool Operator Certificate, or ability to acquire certificate if offered.
  • Ability to lead a team with little to no supervision.
Language Skills: Ability to read a multi-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. The ability to read and write at the 12th grade level. Mathematical Skills: Basic understanding of algebra and geometry at a 12th grade level. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multistep instructions. Be able to identify complex problems and determine root cause for prevention and repair.Other Qualifications
  • Must have valid Colorado driver's license, and must present the driver's license for verification to HR.
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime as directed.
  • Must be able to function effectively at elevations of 10,000 feet or higher.
  • Must be able to function effectively in all inclement weather conditions.

Employee must be able to work a 40 hour work week. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to traverse on uneven and rough terrain, as well as paved and unpaved trails, use hands and arms to handle and manipulate objects, tools or controls; and operate foot controls on equipment. The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. When operating equipment the employee is frequently exposed to bouncing, jostling, twisting and turning of the upper body. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 80 lbs.Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While outside the employee is occasionally exposed to direct sunlight, dust, pollen and equipment exhaust fumes. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places.
