Job Summary and Qualifications
Pediatric Infusion Nurse
Registered Nurses (RNs) provide and coordinate patient care, educate patients and the public about various health conditions, and provide advice and emotional support to patients and their family members. RNs must use independent and considerable judgment in providing a wide variety of services. As directed by a physician, RNs also give patients medications and treatments, participate in procedures, and use monitoring systems as needed.
What you will do in this role:
You will monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
You will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
You will record patients' medical information and vital signs.
You will order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's condition.
You will modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.
You will direct or supervise less-skilled nursing or healthcare personnel or supervise a particular unit.
You will consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
You will monitor all aspects of patient care, including diet and physical activity.
You will instruct individuals, families, or other groups on topics such as health education, disease prevention, or childbirth and develop health improvement programs.
You will prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
You will prepare education patient on discharge instructions
You will setup / monitor / titrate IV drips including sedation, neuromuscular blockade, and vasopressors
You will setup / monitor invasive monitoring systems including arterial and central lines, and ICP monitoring systems
You will participate in Pediatric Code Blue team response
You will prepare / monitor / recover patients during procedural sedations.
You will supports the facility's Standards of Performance and ICARE values
What qualifications you will need:
RN licensure by Tennessee Board of Nursing or a Board of Nursing from a compact state.
Current BLS certification
PALS and CPI certification required within 6 months of hire.
Minimum of one year of pediatric ICU experience required.
