Job Location : Georgetown,DE, USA
Providing outreach services to people living within the community who are in unhoused living situations (living in encampments, tent cities, under bridges, in the woods, etc.). Provide immediate support and guidance to individuals entering recovery and mental health treatment. Talking with individuals about seeking treatment or other services. Build rapport with those who are unhoused and with substance use and/or mental health disorders. Provide direct and indirect peer support services and emotional support to the client and/or families as indicated. Assist with transportation of clients and referrals to treatment. May provide on the spot assistance of Narcan and/or CPR.
Physically able to walk and be on their feet for the course of their shift when necessary. Outreach is split into 80% in the field; and 20% in the office. Have a Peer Certification or be willing to obtain within the first six months of hire. Be CPR certified and Narcan trained upon hire. Assist with transportation and referrals treatment. Flexible to working in other counties as needed. Complete daily paperwork as required.
Expected to cover both Kent and Sussex counties as needed
Minimum qualifications:
Must have a valid driver's license
Must have personal lived experiences with Substance Abuse and Mental Health
Must have at least 2 years of recovery
