Come join us...Everyone is welcome at our camp!ABOUT THE POSITION: The Peg Lathe Operator is responsible for proper operation of the Peg Lathe equipment focusing on production requirements, quality of the product, safety of self and others. The Weekend Shift will include 3 12-hour days (36 hours). Employees will be paid the equivalent of 40 hours if all requirements of the Weekend Shift Policy are met. The shift will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If the entire shift decides upon different hours (ie. 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.), the hours may change. RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Check Lathe schedule and ensure production is running on time.
- Remove dowels from rack and sort them; remove imperfect dowels and those that are too dark in color.
- Fill hoppers with dowels when needed.
- Maintain operation of the lathes and assure that all are running smoothly.
- When the Peg Lathe jams up, open it, and clear the jam following proper safety guidelines. This requires knowledge of the equipment and the ability to use hand tools.
- Continuously check the quality of pegs; be sure to check every lid cover.
- Move full barrels of pegs to rough sorter.
- Enter production numbers into production sheets.
- Must meet quality, safety, and productions requirements.
- Keep the area clean and all good pegs picked up off the floor.
- Other duties assigned by the leader.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous Manufacturing or Operator experience a plus
- Mechanical and troubleshooting ability.
- Ability to work around cutters and saws.
- Legible handwriting
SKILLS/PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Self-starter who is quality minded
- Must work well alone and as a team.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to remain organized and focused in a fast-paced work environment.
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Must be safety minded. Use proper body mechanics and proper lifting techniques. Always wear hearing protection, safety shoes, and safety glasses. Never put your fingers or any other body part into a running machine. Always keep the area clean to ensure there is not debris on the floor that could cause you or anyone else to fall.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED preferred

- Ability to work in a noisy and dusty environment
- Must be able to safely navigate the production facility, OSHA compliant. Appropriate shoes for standing on concrete flooring is recommended
- Ability to work on feet all day
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in manufacturing environment. The noise level in the facility is usually moderate to high. Hearing protection is required and supplied.
