We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced People Partner to join our Defence People team in Indianapolis.

As the VP, People – Defence, you will be part of the senior business management team within Defence for the development and implementation of certain business areas strategy with particular emphasis on the people and organizational elements, including the delivery of operational HR.

You will also provide expert HR and business change, advice, guidance, coaching and delivery, as a trusted advisor to specific Defence Leadership Team (DLT) members and their global leadership teams.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Partner with the leadership teams in setting and driving strategy and business plans, embedding people and organizational development insights.
  • Support business problems from an organization development perspective, using data and tools to identify the levers which will maximize organizational effectiveness.
  • Act as a trusted Coach to business leaders as they address sensitive/complex people related issues, equipping them with the right skills and behaviors to lead their teams, including meeting Rolls-Royce leadership expectations.
  • Provide effective employee relations advice to enable business change.
  • Ensure a leadership focus on the development and maintenance of effective relationships with employees.
  • As required manage global/local People related projects, or components of projects to achieve Group/Business/Area objectives.
  • Drive the effectiveness of the HR delivery model through working collaboratively across the business, utilizing specialist expertise as required from other parts of the organization.

Basic Requirements:

  • Associate's degree with 10+ years of Human Resources and/or Labor Relations experience in Human Resources, OR
  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of Human Resources and/or Labor Relations experience in Human Resources, OR
  • Master's degree with 6+ years of Human Resources and/or Labor Relations experience in Human Resources, OR
  • JD/PhD, OR
  • 12+ years of Human Resources and/or Labor Relations experience in Human Resources in lieu of a degree.
  • To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Significant HR experience, with a proven ability to influence business strategy and assess the related people implications associated with the plan.
  • Experience in organizational development and the use of Organizational Design tools and techniques to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Broad knowledge of HR functions and its capability to support business objectives.
  • Proven customer and relationship management skills to work with senior client groups as well as the wider HR team.
  • Proven broad change management skill set, combined with the ability to apply project management principles to deliver and support organizational change.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach senior leaders and their teams to deliver business strategy and drive performance and capability improvement within their teams.
  • Sensitive to language and cultural differences.
  • Continual commitment to personal learning, demonstrated ability to build on learning and share within the broader HR function.
