Position Per Diem Facilities Custodian Full-Time/Part-Time Per Diem Location Bronx, NY Salary $16.00/hr. Days/Hours Per diem - as needed basis Description The Per Diem Facilities Custodian is responsible for the routine, general cleaning of the building and cleaning of the individual apartments in the building.Duties and Responsibilities:Vacuum offices, hallways, stairs, lobby, lounge area, exercise room, conference room and all other common areasDust all office furniture, windowsills, countertops, etc.Empty office, bathroom, lounge, exercise room, conference room and all other common area wastebasketsClean bathroom fixtures, counters, mirrors, and mop floorsAssure adequate supplies are in bathroomsClean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming themMaintain adequate stock of all custodial supplies, ordering additional as neededFollow procedures for the use of chemical cleanersNotify managers concerning the need for major repairsRemove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicalsMaintaining the cleanliness of the exterior of the building including removing debris from the property, sweeping patios and walkways as neededSet up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, and ladders to prepare facility for events such as banquets and meetingsSpray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation as allowed by law and with proper protectionDust, clean and maintain exercise equipmentMinor maintenance repairs as needed including changing light bulbs, filters etc.Wearing proper Personal Protective Equipment at all timesCleaning of individual apartments: kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, dusting of blinds, emptying trash baskets Assist Maintenance Mechanic and/or Superintendent when neededRemain current with all Agency required compliance documents and trainings.Major periodic cleaning:Wash inside and outside of all windows, as assignedWash off marks on walls and doorsDust door ledges and floor boardsDust chair/furniture legsScrub bathroom floor, walls, and fixturesClean and/or shampoo carpeting and upholsteryCoordinate moving or set up of furniture to individual unitsMay be required to assist with the clean up of areas damaged by residentsSalary: $16.00/hr.Position RequirementsEOE Statement We are an equal employment opportunity employer.
