Job Description:SCADD is currently seeking compassionate Registered Nurses (Per Diem) to provide nursing oversight to clients that are seeking medically monitored withdrawal services at our New London Withdrawal Management facility. These positions requires weekend and holiday availability. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform initial nursing assessments of clients and document ongoing assessments of clients that are response to treatment.
  • Perform admissions of clients.
  • Develop, implement, record, and evaluate nursing care plans according to age and specific needs of clients.
  • Participate in or supervise the nursing care of clients, providing direct physical care measures as needed.
  • Act as a primary nurse working with individual clients and coordinating their treatment.
  • Execute the medical regimen of care as prescribed by the physician.
  • Educate the client and family toward an understanding of health and illness and the plans for post-discharge care.
  • Respond to medical and psychiatric emergency needs of clients.
  • Run client recovery groups.
Job Requirements:
  • Current State of Connecticut - Department of Public Health Registered Nurse License (RN)
  • CPR certification.
  • Computer Literate
  • Experience in behavioral health / substance abuse field preferred.

About the program:SCADD's Withdrawal Management program is a medically monitored withdrawal management and evaluation program delivered by medical and nursing professionals and enhanced by skilled clinicians and technicians. The services are delivered under a defined set of physicians monitored protocols. Twenty-four-hour nursing observation, medical monitoring and treatment are available on site. Counseling and case management services are available on site seven days per week. New Hire Orientation and Onboarding: If selected for employment with The Southeastern Council on Alcoholism & Drug Dependence, Inc., newly hired employees will be required to attend a mandatory New Hire Orientation which will take place at our Administrative Offices located on 321 Main Street, in Norwich, CT.
