POSITION: Perinatal Services Supervisor DEPARTMENT: Hospital Nursing HOURS: .9 FTE 72 hours per pay period primarily days with flexibility for evening/nights/weekends as needed. WAGE RANGE: $44.47 - $60.17GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:A Registered Nurse that is responsible for coordinating direct and indirect nursing care in the Perinatal Service areas. Acts as a patient advocate and role model to the nursing staff while planning, organizing, and supervising the delivery of care. Evaluates the knowledge base and proficiency of reporting staff via written performance appraisal and observation. Develops and implements educational programs and oversees validation of staff competencies in labor & delivery, post-partum and nursery. Participates in strategic planning and develops and implements goals that are aligned with CCM Health's mission and vision. EDUCATION/TRAINING:
- Bachelor's in Nursing required or willing to obtain within 2 years
- Specialty certification in OB specific area preferred

- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to direct, guide and instruct nursing personnel
- Problem-solving skills including cost-benefit analysis
- Ability to utilize verbal and written communication skills in order to address external and internal customers
- Expertise in negotiating, instructing, supervising, persuading and influencing people
- Proficient in analyzing, evaluating, integrating, compiling and comparing data and information
- Skilled in policy and procedure development
- Adept in active listening, conflict management and team building skills
- Proficient in planning, organizing, delegation and communicating departmental goals and work plans as they relate to the overall mission of CCMH
- Capacity to manage daily challenges in a rural health care setting
- Demonstrated effective presentation skills, written communication and computer skills
This position requires the ability to identify age related differences within the persons served and the adjustment of treatment style and expectations as appropriate, including adjustments based on the person's served cognitive function and learning ability. This will include taking into account their religious and cultural needs and preferences. EXPERIENCE:
- Four or more years of experience in area of expertise
- Minimum of four years nursing leadership experience
