Details Client NameLutheran Home At Kane Job TypePermanent OfferingNursing ProfessionRN SpecialtySupervisor Job ID29990378 Job TitlePerm - RN - House Supervisor (Nights) Kane, PA Shift Details ShiftNight - 12x3 - 06PM Scheduled Hours36 Job Order Details Start Date03/03/2025 Job Description Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty: House Supervisor Job Duration: To be discussed during interview Shift: 6:00 PM-6:00 AM Guaranteed Hours: To be discussed during interview Experience: New grads welcome to apply; Nursing Home experience a plus License: Current license in PA or a temporary work permit required at the time of interview Certifications: BLS (AHA) - Required; COVID Vaccine - Required Must-Have: - Knowledge of medical asepsis, body mechanics, personal care of residents, correct use and care of equipment, observation techniques, reporting and recording - Thorough knowledge of nursing theory and its application - Willingness to comply with regulations, policies, procedures, contracts, and philosophy of the institution - Courteous and professional manner toward residents, visitors, and co-workers - Awareness of cost containment, time management, and proper equipment care - Ability to accept and follow written and verbal directives - Good communication and observation skills Job Description: - Supervise nursing services to ensure resident care complies with good nursing practices and applicable regulations.- Oversee daily nursing activities performed by nursing assistants and LPNs.- Administer and record medication, treatments, and monitoring, such as glucose checks.- Accurately transcribe physician's orders and complete monthly summaries.- Update care plans with accurate reflections of residents' conditions.- Notify the RN Supervisor of significant changes in residents' conditions and report changes accordingly.- Communicate resident transfers to immediate family and department heads.- Assist physicians during rounds, examinations, and treatments as needed.- Collect laboratory specimens and ensure their delivery with complete requisitions.- Supervise and assist with postmortem procedures and notify department heads of death.- Encourage resident participation in scheduled activities.- Report changes in resident condition and care plan changes to the team.- Assist with annual evaluations of nursing assistants and write commendations and counseling records.- Complete incident reports accurately and assist team members as needed.- Document weights and vital signs, addressing discrepancies when necessary.- Clean and stock treatment trays daily, maintain accurate inventory of resident belongings.- Supervise and direct resident care by nursing assistants, ensuring the care plan is executed.- Adjust staffing assignments for optimal resident care and conduct team conferences as needed.- Monitor and ensure staff familiarity with changes in policies and procedures.- Collect data for quality assurance studies and monitor nurse aide job performance for infection control compliance.- Provide direct care to residents when necessary and within restrictions.- Document drug disposal, attend in-services, department, staff, and committee meetings.- Assist new nursing staff orientation and resource for peer clarification on responsibilities.
